New Snow

We’ve had at least 20cms 0f snow overnight & more is forecast for today and tomorrow. Clients who arrived yesterday will have an excellent week’s skiing. Mind you, last week was prety good too. We had acouple of moderate falls of snow during the week and the rest of the time the air temperatures stayed very low and the sun shone. It was even nice enough to tempt me to take to the pistes for an afternoon! I was pleasantly surprised how good the skiing was around Morgins & the Didier Defago run back to the village was fabulous.

Happy skiing

Busy time ahead

Well, we’re half way through the season already and the busy holiday period starts tomorrow with the English, Dutch, Belgians, French & Swiss all on half term. If you haven’t already done so it would be  good idea if you ask us to pre-book any ski or snowboard lessons for you before your arrival for the next 2 or 3 weeks as both ski schools are very, very busy.

We are looking forward to meeting many old friends again over the holiday period and sharing a drink with you in the M3S bar on Sunday evenings at 6 o’clock.

The pistes are still in very good condition and a little more snow is forecast for the beginning of next week.

In terms of availability we have 2 rooms left in the Chalet Suisse from the 12th – 16th March for £55/person/night on a catered basis (or you can take advantage of 1 of our special packages ) and we have more available from the 19th March.

Happy skiing

Late Availability

Don’t miss this amazing offer!

We now have some late availability in Chalet Bruyere from the 12th – 19th February at a massively reduced rate of £45 per person per night on a catered basis. The price includes ski guiding for intermediate & advanced skiers Monday – Friday.

The snow is good, (despite what the press would have you believe) & our guides will take you to the best areas in the PDS to ensure you make the most of your holiday.

Call (+44 (0) 1568770681 or e-mail info@skimorgins.com to reserve one of the 5 rooms left in the resort and beat the holiday rush!

A little fresh snow

Wow, we’ve had some snow. Only 5 -10cms but enough to freshen things up a little. Having said that the skiing is still being described as excellent, especially from Les Crosets onwards. We spoke to Rolf (from Snow Line) and he said that Telemorgins are working very hard to keep the Morgins pistes in good conditions and the links to Les Crosets open.

So, despite what you might read in the media, the Portes du Soleil is very much open and the skiing is good. We recommend you take advantage of our free guiding service to take you to the best & quietest places to make the most of your holiday.

If you have already booked your stay with us we are looking forward to seeing you and if you haven’t get in touch. We have space available on the 12th Feb.

January Sale

Ski Morgins News
16th January 2011

Here we are in the middle of January 2011, well into the winter season & the days are starting to lengthen. All our guests seem to have greatly enjoyed their holidays with us and the skiing, particularly on the French side, has been excellent. Those of you who have taken lessons with the M3S have been very complimentary about Rolf’s team and the ski guiding service continues to be very popular.

“The ski school was also excellent – all the children really came on and the young ones were very happy in the kindergarten which was such a relief to all of us. Please pass on our thanks to all at M3S.”

We have a forecast of more snow and colder weather for the end of this week and because we have quite a lot of availability for the week beginning 22nd January we have slashed our prices. This is your last chance to make the most of our special offers; we are now more or less fully booked until the end of March!

Despite the recent warm weather you have no doubt read about, the skiing here is still very good and all the links between the Foilleuse and Les Crosets are open, although the Corbeau side is closed. The French side still has excellent skiing and we recommend that you make the most of our free ski guiding service from Monday to Friday.

“The flexibility you offer is fantastic and is definitely rare in the market in which you operate – it is wonderful to be able to pick the day of travel and length of stay and so unusual! The ski locker and proximity to the ski school is also a total godsend – particularly given the number of children we had with us”

Happy New Year

Well, the last day of 2010. Not sure whether it’s been a good year or not. I presume it has as we’re still here & our clients are still very keen to come and stay despite the ever strengthening Swiss franc; at least we managed to retain the Ashes! We had a very happy Christmas with lots of people joining us on the 23rd around the Carillon in the centre of the village for vin chaud & carols and more than 200 of you came to our Traditional English Carol Service on the 24th where we raised nearly £700 for Help for Heroes – thank you.

We hope you all have a happy, prosperous and more importantly, healthy 2011 and don’t forget to keep an eye on our website for January Special Offers. I’ll also post them on the blog if my blogging skills are up to it.

Happy Christmas

Happy Christmas to everyone and by way of a present Telemorgins have miraculously managed to open up the links to Champoussin & Les Crosets. Their initial claims that they couldn’t get them open until now due to lack of snow seem slightly spurious given that the 20cms of snow that fell yesterday wouldn’t, in itself, be enough to solve all their problems. So, as it’s Christmas, let’s give them the benefit of the doubt and enjoy the rest of the season.
